Corebridge Financial, Inc. seeks an Assistant General Counsel for Retirement Services, Tax and ERISA to manage complex legal issues across not-for-profit and retirement markets.

The role involves ERISA, IRS, DOL matters, plan design, and contract negotiation, with collaboration across Risk, Compliance and business units. The position is hybrid, based in Houston, TX, Jersey City, NJ, or Woodland Hills, CA, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• In-house experience within financial services and retirement plans services.
• Ability to interpret ERISA, DOL, IRS and state insurance regulations.
• Proven skill in advising on plan design, compliance, and complex agreements.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support for CRBG Retirement Services with focus on IRS, ERISA, DOL and related laws.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including plan sponsor service provider agreements.
• Advise on plan design, eligibility criteria, and participant communications.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on compliance initiatives.
• Support responses to consumer concerns and RFPs for plan sponsorship.
