  • Provide practical, time‑to‑market legal advice to Division and Region leadership, translating legal requirements and commercial considerations into clear guidance.
  • Oversee, draft, negotiate, and resolve complex agreements such as purchase and sale agreements, development and reimbursement agreements, easements, access agreements, and other transaction documents.
  • Support zoning, entitlement, development, and construction‑related legal requirements, coordinating with business teams and senior legal leadership.
  • Manage matter‑level financial responsibilities, including moderate outside counsel spend, budget tracking, and cost‑conscious decision‑making.
  • Develop and implement legal standards, processes, and playbooks to ensure consistent application of policies.
  • Lead and mentor attorneys and legal professionals, providing guidance on complex matters and supporting professional development.
  • Serve as a key legal partner to business leaders across functions to anticipate risks and deliver timely, practical solutions.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the U.S.
  • 10–15 years of legal experience, with substantial experience in real estate transactions, land acquisition, land development, homebuilding, commercial real estate, construction, or closely related practice.
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating acquisition agreements and related transaction documents, and advising on title, survey, diligence, entitlement, closing, and development‑related issues.
  • Ability to provide clear, practical, risk‑balanced advice to business leaders and cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, judgment, and communication skills, capable of operating at both strategic and day‑to‑day execution levels.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing legal teams and external counsel.
  • Prior experience in a senior in‑house legal role or comparable law firm position.
Physical & Site Presence

  • Eligible for bonuses.
  • Eligible for commissions.
  • Eligible for described benefits in accordance with Company Policy.
