Summary

The Assistant General Counsel will provide general legal support for the Pro Builder business of LG Electronics USA (LGEUS) which sells and installs home appliances and other products in new home and other residential construction projects. See https : / / www.lg.com / us / business / builder. The position will further serve to ensure appropriate controls are in place to mitigate legal risks and provide business legal support for the Pro Builder business.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and support negotiation of various types of complex sales, installation, construction, services, and other agreements, including agreements with home builders, distributors, vendors, and other parties related to the Pro Builder business.
  • Advise on antitrust and other legal issues associated with distribution of products and services, online sales tools, and other Pro Builder operations.
  • Review and advise on proposed external communications including marketing materials, press releases, external presentations, white papers, remarks, and other materials for Pro Builder.
  • Work with risk management staff on insurance coverage obligations.
  • Advise on licensing and other regulatory requirements for the Pro Builder business.
  • Manage and / or support pre-litigation and litigation disputes, government administrative agency actions, or subpoenas.
  • Provides detailed reporting to the involved parties. When necessary, manage outside law firms.
  • Generally support LGEUS' Home Appliance and B2B business teams in the U.S. as needed.

Qualifications

  • JD degree, plus at least 5-7 years' relevant experience.
  • Experience negotiating construction and / or supply agreements with residential builders or similar parties.
  • Strong execution and project management skills with ability to organize stakeholders from across a global organization on cross-functional projects (e.g., tax, credit, insurance, etc.).
  • Negotiation and construction industry experience in general.
  • In-house legal experience preferred.
  • Advanced organizational skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with aggressive time lines.
  • Ability to work independently and with accountability within a multinational corporate group.
  • Position located in LG Offices in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, Alpharetta, GA, or Lincolnshire IL, with limited travel (10%) sometimes required.
  • Applicable New Jersey, Georgia, or Illinois Bar license or ability to promptly obtain in-house counsel license.

    150,000-$200,000 USD
