Job summary

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Active State Bar of Georgia license required.
• Minimum of three years of progressively responsible legal experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive legal counsel, analysis, and client advice on a broad range of regulatory, transactional, and governance matters.
• Drafts, reviews, negotiates, and advises on contracts, agreements, vendor relationships, and other business arrangements.
• Provides compliance, risk management, investigations, administrative matters, audits, records obligations, and governance support.
• Supports litigation, claims, subpoenas, open records matters, and dispute resolution with outside counsel as needed.
• Advises on policy, governance, training, and institutional initiatives; collaborates with university stakeholders to implement sound outcomes.
• Maintains knowledge of current legal issues affecting higher education and public institutions; performs other duties as assigned by the General Counsel.
