Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a junior to mid-level Attorney in the Global Investment Banking Legal Practice Group in New York. The role focuses on M&A transactional work across public and private deals, including engagement letters, fairness opinions, and proxy disclosures.

You will advise on legal, regulatory and risk issues, and collaborate with Compliance, Conflicts and Litigation teams. As a Vice President/Assistant General Counsel, you will manage external counsel and mentor junior staff while

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required and NY bar admission.
• Extensive experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating M&A transaction documents.
• Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills; ability to work with senior bankers and executives.

Responsibilities

• Draft and/or negotiate engagement letters, indemnity letters, NDAs, etc.
• Review fairness opinions, valuation presentations and merger agreements.
• Provide guidance on regulatory requirements to partners including Compliance and Litigation.
• Partner with senior attorneys to assist with training and department initiatives.
• Manage and update template documents and contribute to development of industry positions.
• Work with internal teams and external counsel across a global matrix organization.
