Job summary

Texas Health Resources seeks an Assistant General Counsel to provide strategic legal support across hospitals, service lines, and system initiatives. The role involves guiding regulatory compliance, contracting, medical staff matters, and enterprise projects in a dynamic health system.

You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with leadership and clinical teams to mitigate risk, interpret regulations, and shape policy across THR entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• J.D. required.
• 7 years legal experience required.
• 5 years legal experience in specialty area required.
• Healthcare law experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represents and advises in all legal matters for THR hospitals, THPG, or other THR System Services departments.
• Handles a wide range of legal responsibilities as assigned.
• Assists with interpretation and application of State and Federal rules.
• Participate as a member and/or attend various committees and/or meetings.

Position Summary

The Assistant General Counsel will provide dedicated legal support to hospitals, service lines, and system initiatives, helping to manage regulatory compliance, operational risk, contracting, medical staff matters, and enterprise projects.

• Represents and advises in all legal matters for THR hospitals, THPG, or other THR System Services departments.
• Handles a wide range of legal responsibilities as assigned.

• Participate as a member and/or attend various committees and/or meetings.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree Required
• And J.D. Required

Experience

• 7 Years Legal experience Required
• 5 Years Legal experience in specialty area of position Required
• Healthcare Law experience is Strongly Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• JD - Juris Doctor by State Bar of Texas with in 6 Months of hire Required

Skills

• Strong academic credentials, excellent writing and speaking skills, ability to relate to all levels of personnel within THR as well as medical staff members.
