AmericanAg® is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join our team in Schaumburg, Illinois. This hybrid role requires working in the office a minimum of three days per week and provides strategic legal counsel across global reinsurance operations.
The ideal candidate has a Juris Doctor, Illinois license, 8+ years of experience in insurance or reinsurance law, and a proven ability to draft and negotiate complex contracts, with strong regulatory and risk-management capabilities.

The Office of General Counsel provides legal counsel and services across a wide variety of insurance/reinsurance matters. As a trusted advisor, the Assistant General Counsel will provide strategic legal guidance across AmericanAg® and AFBIS, Inc. This role involves identifying, researching, and analyzing legal issues impacting global reinsurance operations, while clearly articulating risks and opportunities to senior leadership.

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $170,000 and $205,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
