Job summary

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Valid license to practice law in Illinois.
• Three years of progressively responsible professional experience practicing law.
• Three years of labor and employment matters experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Department of Human Services before the Civil Service Commission and administrative tribunals.

The attorney will represent the department before the Civil Service Commission and administrative tribunals, conduct legal research, and advise leadership across the organization on HR and labor relations issues.

Key qualifications:

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
• Valid license to practice law in Illinois
• Three years of progressively responsible professional experience practicing law as a licensed attorney
• Three years of experience litigating or advising on labor and employment matters (preferred)
• Three years of experience advising on reasonable accommodations and leaves of absence (preferred)
• Three years of experience litigating before courts or administrative tribunals (preferred)
