Job summary

Applitrack is seeking an Assistant Football Coach (WP Red) for the 2026-2027 school year in Ohio County Schools. The role reports to the Head Coach and supports middle school athletes at Bridge Street and Warwood locations.

The position follows the Ohio County Salary Schedule based on degree and experience, with essential duties including coaching, planning practices, and ensuring safety and discipline on and off the field.

Qualifications

• Appropriate valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate or Coaching Certificate is required.
• Completion of a successful background check is required.
• Thorough knowledge of coaching principles and practices is required.
• Knowledge of budgeting and financial arrangements is necessary.
• Knowledge of rules and regulations as they pertain to the sport and ability to work with staff, athletes, administrators and the public.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all federal, state, and district laws and policies.
• Promote and adhere to the district mission, core beliefs, academic goals, and target areas.
• Coaches, under the direction of the Head Coach, guide participants in skills for excellent achievement in the sport.
• Assist with planning and scheduling of regular practice programs.
• Assist in overseeing safety conditions of the facility where activities are held.
• Assist in enforcing discipline and sportsmanship among participants.
• Attend Booster Club meetings as directed by the Head Coach.
• Attend all meetings arranged by the Head Coach.
• Familiarize with and follow Ohio County Board of Education Regulation 4020.01.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Assist in over-seeing the safety conditions of the facility or area in which the activity is being held.
• Assist in enforcing discipline and sportsman like behavior among participants in the sport activity.
• Attend Booster Club meeting as directed by the Head Coach
• Attend all meetings arranged by the Head Coach.
• Be familiar with and follow the guidelines established in Ohio County Board of Education Regulation 4020.01.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Length of employment term varies according to sport.
