Job description

Position Summary

The Assistant Football Coach – Offensive Coordinator works under the supervision of the Head Football Coach. This position involves coaching quarterbacks, developing offensive philosophy, conducting position meetings, recruiting, organizing visits, assisting with practice and game preparations, planning travel itineraries, mentoring student-athletes, fundraising, managing games, scheduling, and other duties assigned by the Head Football Coach. Proficiency with HUDL, Microsoft Excel, and Word is required.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist the head coach in developing offensive game plans, strategies, and tactics to enhance team performance during practices and games.
  2. Instruct and mentor student-athletes on offensive techniques, skills, and positional responsibilities in line with team objectives and coaching philosophy.
  3. Collaborate with coaching staff to evaluate player performance, identify improvement areas, and develop individualized training programs.
  4. Recruit talented student-athletes by evaluating prospects, establishing relationships with high school coaches, and representing the university at recruiting events.
  5. Monitor academic progress and personal development of student-athletes, providing guidance to support their success on and off the field.
  6. Assist in organizing and conducting team practices, conditioning, and film study sessions to promote player development and tactical understanding.
  7. Foster a positive, inclusive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline.
  8. Ensure compliance with university, conference, and NAIA rules regarding recruiting, eligibility, and athletic participation.
  9. Represent the football program within the university community and participate in fundraising, alumni relations, and promotional activities.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach or athletic department.
Qualifications
  1. Experience playing or coaching collegiate football.
  2. Willingness to work irregular hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  3. Multilingual skills are highly preferred.
  4. Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred.
  5. Previous coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level, focusing on offensive strategies and player development.
  6. Strong knowledge of offensive schemes, techniques, and best practices in football.
  7. Ability to recruit and develop student-athletes from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
  8. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  9. Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive team environment that values academic success and personal growth.
  10. Ability to work flexible hours, including travel as needed.
  11. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
