Job summary

An established industry player is seeking an Assistant Football Coach to support the Head Coach in all aspects of the football program. Brief description of duties:

The Assistant Football Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the football program, including planning and leading practices, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, and promoting academic and personal growth among student-athletes. This role involves direct supervision of players, assisting with game-day management, and helping maintain a safe and positive environment both on and off the field.

Primary Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Coach in organizing and conducting effective practices and team meetings.

Support the implementation of offensive and defensive strategies appropriate for middle school athletes.

Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities to ensure safety and discipline.

Reinforce expectations for behavior, academic performance, and sportsmanship in alignment with school and district standards.

Contribute to game-day operations including setup, sideline management, and communication with players.

Provide input and feedback to the Head Coach regarding player development and team performance.

Assist with maintaining equipment and ensuring all athletes follow safety protocols.

Serve as a positive role model for students and promote the values of teamwork, respect, and effort.

Help monitor eligibility, attendance, and conduct of student-athletes in coordination with the Head Coach and Athletic Director.

Participate in parent communication, team events, and additional duties as assigned.

Special skills, qualifications, or education:

Prior football playing or coaching experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, rules, and techniques.

Ability to motivate, mentor, and work collaboratively with middle school athletes.

Effective communication and organizational skills.

Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Must pass a background check and meet all district employment requirements.
