Job summary

Mount Vernon High School is seeking applicants for positions on the High School Football Staff for the 26-27 school year. This role teaches and coaches our students to the highest level attainable while supporting the district’s academic beliefs and practices.

Duties include acting professionally, promoting positive relationships with students and parents, ensuring student safety, coordinating with staff and the Head Coach, and managing fundraising and budgets.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, peers and adults.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and faculty.
• Background Checks-Clearance on all background checks required by law that is satisfactory to the Administration.

Responsibilities

• Act professionally and within district guidelines, carrying out assignments promptly, responding positively to direction, and adhering to Board of Education policies and procedures.
• Promote positive relationships and communication with students, parents, staff, administrators, and the community, presenting a positive image of the school and district.
• Support student safety and well-being by taking appropriate precautions and maintaining knowledge of CPR, First Aid, and procedures related to bloodborne pathogens and infectious materials.
• Collaborate effectively with school personnel, including administrators, faculty, staff, and the Head Coach, to support programs and assigned responsibilities.
• Manage and oversee fundraising and budget responsibilities, including supervising fundraising activities and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality, pursue ongoing professional growth, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Assistant Coach

• Preferred - Bachelors Degree
• Minimum - 60 College Hours
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations-Shall hold certification as required by Missouri law and/or MSHSAA guidelines:

Assistant Coach

• Preferred - Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
• Minimum - Valid Missouri Substitute Certificate
• Appropriate Drivers' License required in the event position requires transport of students.
