  • Coordinate with the Athletic Director regarding transportation needs for meets and events
  • Ensure student safety at all times and proper use, care, and storage of equipment
  • Support fundraising activities as needed and follow district procedures
  • Comply with district policies and safety protocols, including concussion guidelines

Payette School District is accepting applications for the following coaching position for the 2025–2026 school year:
Assistant Football Coach – McCain Middle School
Position Purpose

The Assistant Football Coach supports the development of high school student-athletes by fostering skill development, positive attitudes, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Emphasis is placed on age-appropriate instruction, participation, and the development of lifelong habits of physical activity, responsibility, and respect.

Goals
  • Support the physical, social, and emotional development of high school student-athletes
  • Teach fundamental golf skills appropriate for varying ability levels
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect for self and others
  • Provide positive role modeling and encouragement
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive athletic environment
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Working with Student-Athletes
  1. Attend and assist with all practices, meets, team meetings, and required school-related activities, including supervision during events and field trips
  2. Assist in organizing and conducting practice sessions that emphasize skill development, participation, and safety
  3. Support instruction of basic football skills for students of varying abilities
  4. Help supervise students at competitions and ensure appropriate conduct and sportsmanship
  5. Assist with communication between coaches, students, families, and administration
  6. Monitor student participation and effort throughout the season
  7. Coordinate with the Athletic Director regarding transportation needs for meets and events
  8. Ensure student safety at all times and proper use, care, and storage of equipment
  9. Support fundraising activities as needed and follow district bookkeeping and purchasing procedures
  10. Comply with federal and state law, administrative rules, Board policy, and district procedures related to student-athlete safety, including concussion protocols
  11. Ensure students meet eligibility requirements, including academic standing and physical clearance
  12. Encourage student participation and help create a positive team culture that emphasizes growth and inclusion
  13. Model professionalism, positive behavior, and effective conflict management
  14. Maintain clear expectations for conduct, respect, and fair play
  15. Follow district athletic guidelines and high school activity standards
Terms of Employment

Employment is approved by the Board of Trustees and in accordance with federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy.

Background Check Requirement

All employees and applicants are required to undergo a criminal history check and fingerprinting. Applicants convicted of felony crimes enumerated in Idaho Code § 33-1208 may not be hired.

Evaluation

Performance of this position will be evaluated periodically by the building principal in conformance with district policy and IDAPA 08.02.02.120.
