Job description

Assist in directing the operation of the Food Service Department, under the direction of a Director. Performs a variety of duties including the planning and supervision of special functions, maintaining payroll records, hiring, and training personnel. Ensures customer satisfaction and good public relations are achieved through the safe and efficient use of resources.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Evaluates, directs, and manages the function and structure of food and nutrition services, ensuring that all client expectations and regulatory standards are being appropriately monitored and adhered to.
  • Develops and oversees appropriate goals and action plans that will meet and/or exceed established client expectations.
  • Evaluates the production, safe handling, and quality of all food prepared and distributed to ensure that it is consistent with JHAL policy and procedures for quality food service.
  • Communicates customer service evaluation mechanisms to ensure that ongoing information is retrieved and evaluated for improvement purposes.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures, as evidenced through local health department and third-party audits.
  • Prepares meals as menu indicates.
  • Adheres to Glatt-Kosher guidelines.
