Job description

Assistant Food Service Director – Greene Meadows Nursing Home

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Timely preparation and service of meals
  2. In assisting the Food Service Director, you may be asked to assist in Scheduling, Budgeting, Ordering & Inventory (& other tasks as needed)
  3. Handle food by safety standards
  4. Follow all sanitation standards
  5. Consistently utilize standardized recipes and portion control.
  6. Responsible for the supervision of the kitchen when in the absence of a supervisor/director
  7. Prepare meals in accordance with dietary and consistency requirements
  8. Assist with special functions
  9. Maintain and assure cleanliness and safe operation of equipment in all work areas
  10. Maintain logs for refrigerators/freezers and food temperatures.
  11. Be a role model for staff to follow and maintain a positive work environment
  12. Be cost-efficient and productive.
  13. CLEAN, SAFE & SANITARY
  14. Promote and follow facility policies, rules, and regulations.

Required qualifications:

  1. Must be at least 18 years old or older
  2. Ability to supervise and lead others
  3. Previous experience in the food service industry

Shifts Vary:
Breakfast through Dinner Kitchen Hours are 5 am – 7 pm (You’d work 8 hour shifts)

*Requires every other weekend availability.
