Job summary

Coral Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an Assistant Food Service Director to lead the dietary team, oversee food preparation, service, and sanitation, and maintain high standards of quality and customer service.

You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with regulations, manage inventory and equipment, and support the Dietary Director across shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, in a dynamic long-term care environment.

Qualifications

• Current Food Safety Manager or Food Handler Certification required.
• CDM / CFPP Certification preferred where required by State regulation for long-term care.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management and supervision of the dietary staff, including food preparation, serving, and clean-up activities on varying shifts as needed
• Provide leadership, support, and guidance to ensure food quality standards, inventory levels, food safety guidelines, and customer service expectations are met
• Operate a variety of industrial kitchen equipment and perform job assignments of dietary aides, cooks, and dishwashers
• Assume responsibility of managing and supervising the dietary staff at a single site in the absence of the Dietary Director
• Lead small groups of assistants in food preparation, serving, and clean-up activities
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and standards
