Job description

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation and staff of all food and beverage outlets, maintaining high standards and efficiency. Margaritaville Resort Lake Conroe offers diverse dining experiences; the ideal candidate will have experience with casual dining, grab and go, golf course cafes, poolside, and upscale dining.

Your Role
  1. Assist in maintaining a smooth operation.
  2. Create an experiential and efficient atmosphere for staff and guests, maintaining service standards.
  3. Ensure proper scheduling based on staffing models and forecasts.
  4. Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction and assist with any opportunities that arise.
  5. Conduct daily shift briefings as mandated.
  6. Assist with training, coaching, and ensuring accountability of team members.
  7. Ensure responsible alcohol service and high standards of productivity, food and beverage quality.
  8. Maintain cleanliness and physical atmosphere of the restaurant.
  9. Handle nightly cash outs, side work, closing duties, and opening/closing walkthroughs.
  10. Monitor payroll, revenue, and assist with inventory control, including daily paperwork.
Marginal Functions
  • Respond to tasks assigned by supervisors or managers.
  • Cover duties of the Manager in their absence.
  • Assist with hiring and training staff.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by leadership.
Environment

Indoor, climate-controlled environment with kitchen floors that may be slippery or greasy; outdoor exposure to elements.

Physical Requirements

Constant walking, standing, reaching, balancing; occasional crouching, bending, pushing/pulling; lifting up to 50 lbs frequently; manual dexterity, vision, and hearing capabilities required.

Qualifications
  • TABC and Food Handlers Certification REQUIRED.
  • Minimum two years of high-volume restaurant leadership experience.
  • Four or more years of Food & Beverage experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Solid beverage and bar experience; availability for late nights.
  • Ability to make quick decisions in fast-paced, high-stress situations.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Experience in luxury hotel or full-service resort food and beverage operations.
  • Knowledge of Micros.
  • Pleasant and positive personality, able to hold team and self accountable.
