The Goddard School of Middle River (Greenleigh), MD is seeking a motivated Assistant Floating Teacher to support Lead Teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities and maintaining a safe, nurturing classroom environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience with young children in licensed childcare/preschool setting.
• 99 Hour Preschool Certification/45 Hour Infant Toddler Certification preferred.
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with child handling.

• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children.

Assistant Floating Teacher Key Responsibilities:

• Substitute in classrooms and help in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure safety and cleanliness
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children
• Assist in communicating with parents about their child’s progress and activities
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines
• Support routine child care tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment
