Job summary

Blount Fine Foods is seeking a 2nd shift team member to assist in mixing, blending, and cooking of raw ingredients in a fast-paced production environment. You will support blender operators, follow recipes without deviations, and help ensure product meets viscosity and sensory requirements.

Daily tasks include equipment setup, ingredient check-in, safe operation of lifting, forklifts, and adherence to GMPs, HACCP, and safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Basic mathematical skills to perform unit conversions and measurements.
  • Written and verbal English communication required.
  • Basic problem-solving and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with data entry on PDTs and HMI screens is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist blender operators with efficient processing of finished food products.
  • Set up and breakdown of processing equipment as needed.
  • Check-in ingredients and verify against recipes; report discrepancies.
  • Follow recipes with no deviations to ensure product quality.
  • Run tests to ensure product meets viscosity and sensory specs.
  • Learn to operate and adjust inline processing equipment.
  • Assist with lifting across lines and operate forklifts with certification.
  • Adhere to GMPs, SOPs, and safety policies; complete required paperwork.

Job Summary

Assist in efficient and accurate mixing, blending, and cooking of raw ingredients. May be required perform any additional responsibilities assigned by leadership. In the event of absence, the position will be filled by adequately trained personnel.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assist Blender Operator(s) with the efficient and accurate processing of finished food grade products, on the processing lines, and/or at periodic times.
  • Assists with Set up / break down of equipment as needed.
  • Check-in ingredients, matching them to the recipe. Communicate any discrepancies to the Blender Operator(s), Supervisor/Lead, and expeditor.
  • Follows the recipe with no deviations (proper mixing of slurries, etc….).
  • Assists with run tests, to ensure product meets viscosity & sensory requirements before filling process.
  • Ability to learn how to operate and adjust multiple in-line pieces of processing equipment.
  • Assists with lifting in variety of areas/lines.
  • Communicates effectively with peers and FSQA to meet quality standards, efficient processing, including prep delays.
  • Able to Identify ingredients — bases, diced vs. sliced, etc…..
  • Other responsibilities w/ similar skill and work conditions as assigned.

  • Safely operate various types of equipment.
  • Safely operate forklifts, manual and / or electric pallet jacks. (Plant Certification)
  • Must be LOTO (Lockout / Tagout) Certified

  • Responsible for completing required paperwork accurately and honestly as applicable.
  • Must adhere to all corporate GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and all Food and Employee Safety policies.
  • Must adhere to all Allergen control programs and procedures as applicable.
  • Responsible for reporting suspicious packages, activities, and individuals.
  • If monitoring CCPs (Critical Control Points), must be trained in HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and adhere to the approved HACCP plan(s).
