Job summary

Shea Homes is seeking a dedicated onsite construction support professional to assist supervision and completion of communities. The role ensures 100% quality before close, while promoting safe practices for Trade Partners and employees.

You will analyze progress, conduct quality reviews, and help manage schedules through to closing, with strong customer-focused execution on each site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient with MS Office and basic computer skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Field Manager in all project phases and daily supervision.
• Analyze work in progress and report to Field Manager.
• Perform quality reviews for compliance with plans and specs.
• Observe safety practices and conduct audits weekly.
• Ensure contractor adherence to Shea Homes’ quality standards.
• Review processes to improve methods and manage budget.
• Assist with other projects as assigned.
• Maintain focus on customer experience and schedule management.
• Manage inspection process toward Certificate of Occupancy.

Description

This position is responsible for assisting supervision and completion of onsite construction at specified communities to meet quality, customer, cycle time, and budgetary objectives. In addition to encouraging safe work practices of all Trade Partners and Shea Homes job site employees and visitors; this individual also works with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload. The overall goal is to provide a home that is 100% complete for every customer prior to their close date.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides support to Field Manager in all phases of the project / community
• Conducts daily analysis of work in progress with report to Field Manager
• Performs Quality Performance Reviews of construction work to ensure compliance with plans, specs and quality
• Observes and evaluates Trade Partner safety practices daily and conducts safety audits weekly
• Ensures contractors conformance to Shea Homes’ quality requirements
• Reviews construction processes and evaluates ways to improve methods and be budget conscious
• Assists with other projects as assigned
• Demonstrates strong focus on customer service and customer experience
• Review, finalize and manage schedule of back-end construction to closing.
• Manage inspection process to receive Certificate of Occupancy

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS &KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Computer literate in MS Suite, Excel,Word, Outlook and Power Point, computer/iPad knowledge
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Excellent Organization
• Common multi-tasking skills
• Ability to learn new computer and online programs
