Job summary

Holder Construction in Lancaster, TX is hiring an Assistant Field Engineer for a full-time, in-person role on our Lancaster project. You will support field engineering crews, perform layout operations with surveying equipment, and help translate project drawings into accurate on-site execution.

Ideal candidates will have experience leading layout crews, knowledge of total stations, site levels, lasers, data collectors, and AutoCAD/Bluebeam basics.

Qualifications

• Experience leading construction layout crews.
• Proficient with surveying equipment and field layouts.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
• Ability to read structural, architectural, civil drawings.
• Strong math skills including geometry and basic trigonometry.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain project control lines and benchmarks.
• Support field crew activities under guidance from a Field Engineer.
• Plan and perform layout operations using surveying tools.
• Provide accurate layout for foundations, anchors, slabs per drawings.
• Coordinate with trades to resolve layout issues.
• Ensure work aligns with schedules and safety requirements.
