Job summary

Waterford High School in Waterford, CT seeks an Assistant Fencing Coach to lead after-school practices and help coordinate weekend meets. This 1.0 position may be split into two 0.5 roles.

Candidates should have Connecticut Coaching Certification, strong fencing fundamentals (footwork and at least one weapon), and experience coaching at high school, collegiate, or club levels. Ability to troubleshoot gear and support event logistics is valued.

Qualifications

• CT Coaching Certification is required.
• Experience coaching at high school, collegiate, or club level preferred.
• Basic Armory: troubleshoot and repair gear (fixing body cords, testing tip tension, wiring blades).
• Schedule availability: after-school practices and weekend meets/tournaments

Responsibilities

• Lead after-school fencing practices and mentor athletes.
• Coordinate and attend weekend meets and tournaments.
• Support equipment setup, maintenance, and safety checks.

Waterford High School is seeking an Assistant Fencing Coach. This 1.0 position may be split into two 0.5 positions.Waterford Public Schools serve approximately 2,500 students in grades PK-12. The district’s facilities include three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The Waterford community strongly supports the public schools and has high expectations for staff and students. According to the State of Connecticut Next Generation Performance Accountability System, Waterford Public Schools ranks in the top third of K-12 school districts in the state.
