Job summary

The Town of Hilton Head Island seeks an experienced Assistant Facilities Director to help manage Town properties and facilities, ensuring safe, reliable operation and compliance with standards.

You will assist the Facilities Director with contracts, maintenance programs, capital projects, budget oversight, and staff supervision while aligning efforts with sustainability goals and public service values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 8+ years in facilities and contract management.
• Valid Driver's license.
• Knowledge of facility maintenance, contract management, and municipal budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage contracts for maintenance of Town properties and facilities, ensuring compliance with service standards.
• Assist in planning and implementing facility policies, programs, and sustainability initiatives.
• Oversee and coordinate Town Capital Improvement Projects, including design services and project specifications.
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding facilities and property management.
• Supervise division staff, provide training, and ensure compliance with Town policies and procedures.
• Assist in the development and management of the departmental budget, including reviewing expenditures and making recommendations.
• Support safety programs by enforcing safety regulations, assessing risks, and ensuring team training.

Join Our Team as the Assistant Facilities Director

The Town of Hilton Head Island is seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Facilities Director to assist in managing our community’s Town properties and facilities. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the effective maintenance and oversight of Town facilities and ensure that these community resources operate smoothly and safely.

About The Role

As the Assistant Facilities Director, you will support the Facilities Director in developing and managing contracts, overseeing maintenance and upkeep, and implementing initiatives to support the Town's sustainability and resilience goals. You will also supervise assigned staff, coordinate with various departments, and oversee facility-related projects to ensure alignment with Town standards and community needs.

What You Will Do

• Develop and manage contracts for maintenance of Town properties and facilities, ensuring compliance with service standards.

• Strong organizational and project management skills
