Qualifications

  • 5+ years in electrical construction, fabrication or related ops.

Job Summary

The Assistant Fabrication Manager supports the Fabrication Manager in the safe, efficient, and high‑quality operation of the Aurora, Colorado fabrication facility. This role serves as the second‑in‑command for facility operations and provides leadership across production planning, workforce development, quality control, scheduling, fabrication operations, inventory coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.

In addition to supporting the facility’s current electrical prefabrication requirements, the Assistant Fabrication Manager plays a key role in implementing Loenbro’s broader fabrication strategy by helping standardize processes, improve production efficiency, strengthen collaboration across fabrication operations, and support the continued evolution of scalable manufacturing capabilities.

The ideal candidate combines strong electrical construction and fabrication experience with an operational mindset focused on safety, quality, workforce development, production discipline, and continuous improvement. This individual will support current project‑driven fabrication demands while helping establish the systems, processes, and operational consistency necessary for future growth.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Support the Fabrication Manager in leading day‑to‑day fabrication facility operations.
  • Serve as the facility leader in the absence of the Fabrication Manager.
  • Coordinate production schedules, shop workflow, and resource allocation to support project and operational needs.
  • Partner with project, field, purchasing, warehouse, and design teams to ensure successful execution of fabrication deliverables.
  • Lead daily production activities while promoting a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor production performance, labor productivity, and operational metrics to drive efficiency and consistency.
  • Support implementation of process improvements, standardized work practices, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S initiatives.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, within quality standards, and in compliance with company policies.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Production & Operations

  • Oversee daily fabrication operations and production workflow.
  • Coordinate fabrication schedules, material readiness, and delivery requirements.
  • Support development of scalable processes, systems, and operational controls that improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Collaborate with field and project teams to enhance constructability and overall project performance.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

  • Maintain quality control processes and fabrication standards.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with specifications and requirements.
  • Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and performance.

Fabrication & Manufacturing Oversight

  • Provide leadership for fabrication activities, including electrical assemblies, conduit systems, skids, custom builds, and related fabrication processes.
  • Support welding, metal fabrication, finishing, and coating operations as applicable.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, productivity, and manufacturing capacity.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, coach, and develop fabrication personnel.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Foster a positive culture centered on teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.

Safety

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through coaching, observations, and proactive risk mitigation.

Other duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical construction, fabrication, manufacturing, industrial operations, or a related production environment. Experience supporting electrical prefabrication operations strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
  • Experience managing production schedules and shop operations.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and construction documents.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician License.
  • Experience in electrical prefabrication operations.
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience.
  • Experience with industrial painting or coatings processes.
  • Familiarity with BIM, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or VDC workflows.
  • Lean Manufacturing and 5S implementation experience.
  • Experience supporting mission‑critical, industrial, data center, or large commercial construction projects.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
