Job summary

ProAmpac Security Products Limited in Westfield, MA seeks a production worker for 12-hour shifts on a 4 on/4 off cycle. The wage is $20–$27 per hour with a structured progression program based on skills, experience and milestones.

This is a full-time position with overtime paid per policy and law. Responsibilities include ensuring materials are approved for use, testing substrate weight and appearance, documenting usage and defects, and maintaining proper packaging and labeling.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Nine to twelve months related experience or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills; ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and develop solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Make necessary corrections for and notify operator if non-conforming material is produced.
  • Ensure raw materials have been approved for use.
  • Adhere to ISO, GMP, and food safety practices.
  • Responsible for substrate basis weight and appearance sample testing, documentation and retention.
  • Document raw material usage and defects and production chronology.
  • Ensure proper packaging and labeling of unused raw material returns.
  • Assist with resin blender setup and calibration checks.
  • Monitor and control process when operator is absent.
  • Verify in-line and bench top measuring and test instruments are calibrated before use.
  • Set up and clean up machines.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Wage:

  • $20 - $27/hour
  • The position is eligible for a structured wage progression program based on skills, experience and progression milestones

Hours:

  • 12 hour shifts
  • 4 on 4 off rotation schedule
  • Note: Schedule is approximately 48 hours per week (2,704 annually)
  • Overtime paid in accordance with company policy and applicable law
Essential Duties and Tasks

  • Make necessary corrections for and notify operator if non-conforming material is produced.
  • Ensure raw materials have been approved for use.
  • Commitment, awareness and involvement pertaining to ISO (policy, standards, procedures, etc.) and food safety practices (GMP’s, procedures, etc.) are requirements of all employees.
  • Responsible for substrate basis weight and appearance sample testing, documentation, and retention.
  • Responsible for documentation of raw material usage and defects and the chronology of production.
  • Ensure proper packaging and labeling of any unused raw material returns.
  • Responsible for the setup of the resin blenders.
  • Monitor and control of the process and production when operator is absent.
  • Verifying in-line and bench top measuring and test instruments are calibrated through the calibration records and/or verification control charts prior to using.
  • Set-up and Clean-up machine.
  • All other duties as required
Qualifications, Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Nine to twelve months related experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
