Join our Team as an Assistant Executive - Accounts

Francis J. Vassallo & Associates Ltd (the ‘Company’) is a corporate, tax, and advisory firm in Malta with over 20 years of experience providing bespoke services to international and local companies, family offices, and private clients.

As part of its continuous growth, the Company is looking for an Assistant Executive within the Accounts department to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career in finance and accounting with a dynamic and supportive team.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Assist in day-to-day tasks related to an allocated portfolio under the supervision and guidance of Management.
  2. Prepare management accounts in a timely manner.
  3. Prepare accountancy files for audit purposes.
  4. Prioritize jobs and adhere to deadlines.
  5. Prepare VAT and tax returns under the guidance of the Tax/VAT team.
  6. Make calculated decisions within the parameters set by Management, following a risk-based approach.

Essential Roles:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Organized with an analytical mind and strong technical skills.
  • Problem-solving and solution-driven mindset.
  • Meticulous with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and problem-solve with a can-do attitude.
  • Proactive, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting matters or ability to acquire such knowledge quickly.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year in a similar accounting role.
  • Partly qualified or qualified ACCA or similar accounting qualification.
  • Fluency in English.
