Job summary

Weis Builders is seeking an Assistant Estimator in Lewisville, TX to support the estimating team in preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects.

You will analyze plans, perform takeoffs, collaborate with subcontractors, and help prepare bids while maintaining detailed records and contributing to project schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• Experience in construction estimating is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in gathering and reviewing project plans, specs, and documentation.
• Conduct takeoffs from drawings to determine material and labor costs.
• Collaborate with senior estimators to prepare cost estimates and bids.
• Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing and scope.
• Analyze historical data to forecast costs and performance.
• Maintain records of estimates, proposals, and changes during bidding.
• Participate in project meetings and site visits as needed.
• Support estimating team in schedules and budgets.
• Assist with bid documentation and submissions.
• Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and best practices.

The Assistant Estimator will support the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, collaborating and building relationships with subcontractors, and assisting in the preparation of bids and proposals. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
