A leading golf club in Tennessee is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Equipment Technician to support the maintenance and repair of golf course equipment. The role involves routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance. Ideal candidates will have mechanical skills and a keen attention to detail.
Established in 1983, The Honors Course is a private golf club located just northeast of Chattanooga, Tennessee in a community known as Ooltewah. The club's mission is focused on amateur golf and has hosted many amateur championships. The Honors Course has consistently been ranked by Golf Digest as one of "America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses" since it opened.
The Honors Course hosted the 2024 US Senior Amateur and is excited to be hosting the 2026 US Women's Amateur along with the 2031 US Men's Amateur.
The Assistant Golf Course Equipment Technician works under the supervision of the Head Equipment Technician to maintain and repair all golf course equipment, including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and small engines. This position ensures that equipment is properly maintained and operates safely and efficiently to support the overall maintenance of the golf course.
Assist in the maintenance and repair of golf course equipment, including mowers, utility vehicles, and small engines.
Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs to keep equipment in optimal working condition.
Sharpen mower blades and maintain cutting units to specified standards.
Assist in the diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical issues.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized workshop.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
Report equipment malfunctions and recommend repairs to the Head Technician.
Operate and test equipment to confirm proper operation.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Technician or Golf Course Superintendent.
Work is primarily performed in a workshop environment with some outdoor work required.
Must be able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
Ability to lift up to 51lbs.
Ability to stand, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, dust, and fumes.
Head Golf Course Equipment Technician or Director of Agronomy.
