Summary

The Maintenance Site Manager, employed by Fluor at their client site, Rand-Whitney Containerboard in Montville, CT, is responsible for leading the maintenance team to optimize production in daily operations, project, and change management through technology, data, and team accountability. The role emphasizes proactive problem solving, continuous improvement, and excellence in management style.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement maintenance strategies, including preventive maintenance, work procedures, inventory, and project management, in collaboration with the maintenance team. Establish KPIs and monitor performance.
  2. Prepare annual maintenance budgets (over $10MM) for review by senior management, utilizing data analysis and technology for cost control, forecasting, and vendor negotiations.
  3. Review downtime data, develop procedures to improve reliability, and participate in root cause failure analysis to prevent recurring issues.
  4. Prioritize and schedule work and projects, oversee quality control, and ensure timely completion with minimal downtime.
  5. Manage asset plans, including spare parts inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with asset management software for cost efficiency and reporting.
  6. Act as the primary contact for the Plant General Manager and Engineering Manager, conducting monthly performance reviews focused on reliability and costs, maintaining client relationships, and identifying opportunities for upselling based on operational assessments.
  7. Serve as the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager for the maintenance team of thirty personnel.
  8. Ensure compliance with Operating System Requirements (OSR)/Operating System Implementation Plan (OSIP) by defining and documenting duties and responsibilities.
  9. Participate in developing capital and major maintenance plans.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversight of thirty employees.

Skills and Qualifications
  1. Four-year degree or equivalent in a relevant field, with six years of related experience or ten years of combined education and experience if non-degreed.
  2. Effective communication skills with diverse audiences.
  3. Experience using CMMS required.
  4. Ability to understand and apply applicable laws and regulations.
  5. Attention to detail and efficiency in work.
  6. Experience coaching craft employees to improve skills.
  7. Preferred: Paper mill maintenance experience.

  1. Paper mill maintenance experience.
  2. Experience with Maximo.
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  4. Predictive and preventive maintenance experience.
