Job summary

Crowley Maritime Corporation in Jacksonville seeks an Assistant Engineer – SIU for Ocean Class vessels. You will support engineering watches, operate propulsion and auxiliary systems, and ensure safe, efficient vessel operation during voyages from the Lake Charles homeport.

The role requires STCW endorsements, 1 year engineering experience, TWIC, and the ability to travel internationally. Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PLC-related maintenance will help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Assistant Engineer – Oceans, any HP, Limited – 1600 GRT/3000 ITC License.
• Valid STCW with required endorsements (Officer in Charge of Engineering Watch, Advanced Firefighting, Medical Care Provider).
• TWIC
• Passport valid; must be able to travel internationally.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain propulsion and auxiliary systems aboard Ocean Class vessels.
• Monitor engineering watch and respond to alarms as required.
• Assist with vessel maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC-based systems.

ASSISTANT ENGINEER – SIU – Ocean Class

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Assistant Engineer – Oceans, Any HP, Limited – 1600 GRT/3000 ITC License
• Valid STCW with all required endorsements (including, but not limited to Officer in Charge of Engineering Watch, Advanced Firefighting, and Medical Care Provider)
• TWIC
• Valid Passport - must be able to travel internationally with no felonies, DUI, or other convictions which would restrict entry into other countries
• CPR/First Aid

Minimum Experience

• 1 year service as Engineer
• Familiarity with Towing vessel deck machinery
• Familiarity with PLC control systems
• Computer proficiencies with Word, Excel, Outlook and Maintenance based programs.

Preferred Experience

• Caterpillar or Wartsila experience
• Kongsberg Dynamic Positioning system Training

Expectation: May be assigned to other classes of vessels as necessary

Probation: 90 days

Compensation: As Per Contract

Geographic Area: Lake Charles Homeport

These sailing positions require a flexible sailing schedule provided within the agreement between Crowley Towing and SIU for the East of Panama based vessels.
