Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, invites applications for an Assistant Engineer in the Transportation Department in Denver, CO. The role focuses on roadway design, collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, and delivering analysis, plans, and specifications for highway projects.

The position is hourly, non-exempt, with a compensation range of $31.75–$42.00 per hour. A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and EIT (or plan to obtain) are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• 0 to 5 years of experience in civil engineering tasks.
• E.I.T. certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Learn and gain valuable experience in all aspects of engineering.
• Prepare analyses, designs, and calculations for roadway systems and related structures.
• Assist with layout and plan preparation with other design team members.
• Prepare technical specifications and cost estimates.
• Participate in proposal and report writing.
• Contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm based in California, is hiring a roadway design engineer to join our Transportation Department. If you are looking to work in a unique team that works on a wide variety of projects, you have come to the right place. We work in many design disciplines including highways and local roadways, bike trails, pedestrian facilities, drainage facilities and many more. If you are looking to join a team where you will be a lead roadway design engineer, this would be a great position for you.

This is a staffed, hourly, non-exempt position.

A day in the life as a Wood Rodgers' Assistant Engineer

• Learn and gain valuable experience in all aspects of engineering.
• Preparation of engineering analysis, designs, and calculations for roadway systems and other transportation related structures, including calculations and cost estimating.
• Assist with layout and plan preparation with other design team members.
• Prepare technical specifications.
• Participate in proposal and report writing.
• And of course, other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• 0 to 5 years of experience performing the essential duties listed above.
• Willingness to learn, grow, innovate, and be mentored.
• Knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and practices.
• Skilled in the use of computers for AutoCAD, Civil3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
• E.I.T. Certification; or ability to get it within 6 months.
• Ability to gather, organize and analyze engineering data.
• Capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of an engineering team.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Offers will be based on several factors, including experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, training, and location. Base pay is just one part of the comprehensive compensation package offered by Wood Rodgers.
