Job summary

Yellow Brick Road Early Childhood Development Center in Iowa is seeking an Assistant Educator to support the Lead Educator in creating a nurturing, playful learning environment for young children.

You will assist with lesson plans, supervise students, help with routines, and communicate with families using the company app.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in a childcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and be flexible.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet licensing requirements.
• Must possess CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Educator in implementing play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Help maintain a positive classroom culture that fosters belonging, safety, and curiosity.
• Supervise and engage with children to ensure safety and participation; monitor progress as directed.
• Assist in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe classroom environment.
• Communicate with families during drop-off/pick-up and via the Parent Communication app.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and best practices, promoting a culture of growth.
