Assistant District Attorney - Trial Line

The Augusta Judicial Circuit is seeking a gifted lawyer and trial advocate for the position of Assistant District Attorney – Trial Line. You will be joining a team of 60 employees in the Augusta, Georgia, office and manage a standard felony caseload focusing on Quality of Life cases, while you build your litigation experience and move toward becoming a “First Chair” litigator working on homicide and SVU cases.

Experience in prosecution is important, but if you have recently graduated from law school or are looking for a change of scenery, Augusta may be the place for you!

The start date is flexible between July 6, 2026, and August 31, 2026. The salary is competitive with any prosecution position in metro Atlanta.

All applicants must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or with another state’s bar association that is eligible for reciprocity for admittance to the State Bar of Georgia. You must also be admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court and Georgia Court of Appeals.

Exemplary negotiation and litigation ability is required, as you will be working to resolve, or take to trial, those complex felony cases that impact our community and the quality of life for our citizens. Professional management skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a curious intellect are all desired abilities.
