Qualifications

• Law school graduates (Juris Doctorate Degree) and applicants with SJC Rule 3:03 certification.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook).
• To interact in a respectful and professional manner with the public, judicial, law enforcement personnel, and office staff.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute all aspects of criminal cases in primary and jury sessions of the District Court and Juvenile Court in Hampden County.
• Review police reports and charging decisions and make recommendations as needed.
• Handle arraignments, bail requests, and detention hearings as appropriate.
• Provide mandatory discovery to defendants/defense counsel.
• Handle pretrial motions and prepare memoranda and briefs.
• Review case files, statutes, case law, victim input to determine recommendations for resolution.
• Confer all matters and make recommendations at mandatory case conferences with defense counsel.
• Handle mental health commitment matters impacting criminal cases.
• Resolve cases by plea, trial, or dismissal; follow Victim's Bill of Rights.
• All offers contingent upon successful background check.
