The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office is seeking licensed attorneys or July 2026 bar exam takers to join our prosecution team in Montgomery County. Most prosecutors begin in the misdemeanor section, with advancement to felony work based on ability and work ethic, and occasional lateral hiring opportunities.
The starting salary for this position is $93,998, with opportunities to supplement that amount after the initial 90 days.

We are currently accepting applications from licensed attorneys and from those who took the July 2026 bar exam.
We also welcome applicants with prior experience in criminal law. Generally, we have our prosecutors begin in our misdemeanor section. Based on demonstrated ability and work ethic,advancement to felony work can occur more quickly for those with prior experience. Several experienced prosecutors have followed this path with excellent results. There are also some limited opportunities for lateral hiring.
