Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking an Assistant Dispatcher to work with the Dispatcher/Operations Manager to direct and coordinate ordering and delivery of materials for customers.

The role requires a GED, some college preferred, and at least 2 years of dispatching experience. You will help maintain warehouse operations, schedule staff, and ensure timely, safe deliveries.

Position Summary

The primary function of an assistant dispatcher is to work in conjunction with the Dispatcher/Operations Manager to direct and coordinate the ordering and delivery materials to customers in the day-to-day operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
• Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements and enforces adherence to requirements.
• Completes warehouse/delivery requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
• Coordinates with personnel to ensure that service to the customer meets an acceptable standard and generates positive feedback.
• Ensures compliance with the Safety and Loss Control Program.
• Cooperates with Safety director and GMS Risk Management representatives in the investigation and analysis of potential hazards to enforce methods and reduce losses of claims.

Basic Qualifications

GED required, some college preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of dispatching experience.
