Job summary

RSRPD District seeks a Site Assistant to plan, supervise, and conduct indoor and outdoor recreational activities in Simi Valley and Oak Park. You will manage a recreation staff and ensure a safe, positive environment for all attendees.

The role reports to the Site Director, coordinates schedules, maintains records and communicates with parents and school officials, and participates in program evaluations and staff training. This is an at will position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years general recreation experience; planning activities for children.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer within 90 days.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and staff.
• Leadership skills and independent decision making.
• Early Childhood Education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and supervises staff and activities; schedules events; maintains attendance and activity records.
• Conducts program evaluations and promotes staff training and safety procedures.
• In the Site Director's absence, acts on their behalf.
• Performs other related work as required.
