Cornell Tech in New York City is seeking an Assistant Director of Technical Programs and Student Life to oversee key operational aspects for PhD and technical master's students on Roosevelt Island. The role liaises with the graduate education team to implement events, programs, and student support strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ relevant experience.
• Experience modeling values that support inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing.
• Ability to cultivate inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead student support workshops to enhance learning and community building.
• Plan orientation, PhD Visit Days, inclusive events, and recognition ceremonies.
• Oversee events led by other Student & Academic Affairs team members; train student club leaders.
• Develop, oversee and enforce policies of student club events on campus.
• Coordinate commencement activities with Ithaca and communicate with graduating students.
• Collaborate with campus partners (Events, Facilities, IT) to organize campus events.
• Benchmark student programming to implement best practices for PhD and technical masters.
• Develop budgets for student events and present plans to leadership.
• Deliver presentations at student events with other Tech departments and leadership.
