Job summary

Florida Tech's L3Harris Student Design Center seeks a dedicated Operations and Projects Assistant to support the Director of Operations and Projects in managing spaces, budgets, and procurement. You will supervise hands-on training for students, assist in capstone and research projects, coordinate events and showcases, travel for teams, and collaborate with faculty across disciplines.

Bachelor\'s in science or engineering is required; proficiency with MS Office and CAD tools preferred; ability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or engineering field is required.
• Strong project management and procurement skills.
• Experience coordinating capstone/research/personal projects.
• Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.
• Experience with budgets and procurement reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and managing capstone, research, and personal projects.
• Support budgets and procurement of supplies and reconciliation of purchasing cards.
• Supervise hands-on training of students on machine shop equipment and safety.
• Collaborate with departments on/off campus for student project showcases.
• Attend classroom events and oversee capstone advisor meetings.
• Organize student team travel and assist at project competitions.
• Maintain project records for accreditation and finance requirements.
