Job summary

Pratt Institute invites applications for the Assistant Director for Student Organizations and Affinity Groups (AD), reporting to the Director of Student Involvement. The AD provides leadership, advising, and operational support for Pratt’s student involvement program, helping more than 80 clubs and affinity groups and assisting with New Student Orientation.

The AD collaborates with campus partners to develop leadership opportunities across identities, supports large programs like Family Weekend,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, college student personnel, or related field.
• At least two years of experience in student activities, student-organization advising, leadership development or related area.
• Experience in an art and design educational environment preferred.
• Ability to support all students across identities, backgrounds and experiences.
• Experience creating opportunities for leadership development and meaningful participation.

Responsibilities

• Advise and manage Pratt’s student organizations and affinity groups (40+ groups).
• Coordinate orientation activities and New Student Orientation support.
• Administer Engage and Engage+ to track student engagement and events.
• Collaborate with campus partners to develop leadership opportunities across identities.
• Provide training for student leaders and advisors in conjunction with staff.
• Teach a section of Connections, Pratt’s student leadership course.
• Support Commencement activities and student-led events.
• Provide onsite supervision for evening and weekend events.
