Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience.
• Master's degree preferred in counseling, sport management, higher education, or related area.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
• Strong interpersonal and advising skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, advises, and evaluates student athletes' progress toward degree and eligibility; maintains records per UNT, NCAA, and conference standards.
• Serves as primary contact between Athletic Academic Services and assigned sport coaching staff; prepares reports for coaches and staff.
• Advises student athletes in academic progress, degree selection, class selection, policies, and campus resources.
• Supports recruiting activities; assists prospective student athletes through preadmission; evaluates academic information.
• Assists with degree progress and support of student athletes in assigned sport(s).
• Acts as liaison to staff and faculty; collaborates with UNT athletic compliance and certification on procedures and processes.
• Maintains consistent communication with Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student Services, Assistant Athletic Director for Student Services, and sport program staff.
• Collaborates with Learning Specialists and Tutor Coordinator to assign tutoring, learning sessions, and study hall requirements.
• Evaluates prospective student athletes' academic information; monitors progress and creates intervention plans.
• Coordinates faculty/staff guest coaching for assigned sports.
• Performs other duties to support the Athletic Department and Academic Services.
