Working knowledge of the Preclinical Oncology (PCO) services and limitations; this includes in vivo, in vitro and optical imaging services for PCO. A breadth of knowledge of using in vivo human and murine tumor models in drug development is required.
Ability to effectively guide the client from basic scientific concept to overall program completion
Ability to successfully collaborate with the clients, providing program/protocol suggestions based on internal data and relevant literature

Client facing experience
Following training become completely autonomous in the use of the site bidding and protocol designing tool. All protocols/quotes will capture all cost and execution details accurately. This document is client facing and directly feeds into the operational LIMS data collection tool.
Independently engage in scientific discussions with clients in support of Business Development Directors.
Present the full PCO company overview along with all data driven slide decks to clients. These meetings will be both virtual and F2F.
Manage 2 (at most) Scientific Development direct reports. Provide the guidance to allow them to develop a working knowledge of the preclinical oncology models that PCO offers; this includes in vivo, in vitro and optical imaging services. Provide opportunity for client facing growth via client engagement shadowing and protocol design collaboration.
Compile and translate protocol information to Junior Scientific Development staff to allow pricing and proposal generation in the bid tool system. Collaborate with Jr staff to ensure that the protocol is execution ready and has been costed accurately (i.e. formal statement of work (SOW)). Once completed, deliver the finalized protocol and project price to the appropriate Business Development Director (BDD) for delivery to the client.
Develop independent projects that provide growth to the Scientific Development team and PCO services. These opportunities will be presented and approved by Scientific Development/PCO leadership. Assess the ROI and make a business and scientific justification for the project having direct responsibility for the successful completion, providing timely updates and development and distribution of collateral.
Support the continued development of scientific and/or technical marketing materials for commercial use, which may take the form of white papers, data sets, presentations or website content.
Maintain general currency in scientific areas in which the Preclinical Oncology site is engaged and in which the incumbent may be a subject matter expert.
In a public environment, e.g. meeting with clients, potential clients and at any conferences or other scientific meetings, act appropriately and effectively to support Labcorp’s image as a mature and experienced scientific collaborator.
