Qualifications

• Master's degree in a mental health field; experience may substitute for degree requirements
• At least three years in a community mental health program with supervisory experience
• Experience in residential treatment preferred
• Effective communication with staff, clients, and providers

Responsibilities

• Review all charts and records to ensure confidentiality and compliance with policies and laws
• Supervise counselors; conduct regular supervision sessions and annual evaluations
• Ensure timely charting and treatment planning by staff counselors
• Monitor medication logs for accuracy and refills in coordination with medical staff
• Promote the social rehabilitation philosophy among staff and clients
• Assist in screening, hiring, and supervising fill-in counselors and interns
• Assist in training and evaluating counselors, fill-ins, volunteers, and interns
• Advocate for and maintain the program facility with proper safety and standards
• Participate in the on-call system and respond to emergencies professionally
• Coordinate staff work schedules, vacations, holidays, and coverage
• Oversee collection of client data for monthly billings and reporting
• Perform counselor duties as needed including intake, treatment planning, crisis intervention
• Attend relevant staff and administrative meetings as assigned
• Model professional conduct and adherence to program policies and ethics
• Act as Program Director when designated by senior management
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Director
