Job summary

Mississippi State University is seeking an Assistant Director, Recruitment & Events to lead student recruitment across north Mississippi. The role hires, trains, and supervises Admissions Counselors and represents the university at high school and community college fairs and conferences.

You will work with campus leadership to shape and implement the university's broader recruiting strategy, visiting schools, engaging counselors, and building strong regional partnerships while based on campus in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Student Development, Counseling, or a related area.
• Three years of directly related experience in recruitment or student services.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Recruits prospective students within a defined north Mississippi territory and follows up with them directly
• Hires, trains, and supervises Mississippi Admissions Counselors
• Visits high schools, community colleges, and student conferences to recruit students
• Builds recruiting strategy alongside the Associate Director of Recruitment and Director of Student Recruitment
• Corresponds with prospective students and responds to phone and email inquiries
• Represents MSU at conferences, meetings, and alumni recruiting events
• Partners with high school guidance counselors on student recruitment
