Position Overview

The Assistant Director of Nursing supports and manages Nursing Services, ensuring quality care in accordance with physicians' orders and residents' needs. Collaborating with the Director of Nursing, this role supervises nursing staff 24/7, maintains compliance with federal, state, and company standards, and assumes clinical responsibilities in the director's absence. The position involves conducting the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—within the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act and RN licensure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate comprehensive care plans for residents, adhering to physician orders, regulations, and policies.
  • Communicate policies and monitor staff practices and implementation.
  • Participate in admission decisions and visit prospective residents as needed.
  • Attend management meetings to discuss resident status, census, staffing, and concerns.
  • Ensure compassionate, quality care with adequate staffing, cleanliness, odor control, pressure sore prevention, and resident function maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which may change without notice.
Qualifications
  • Current RN or LPN license in the practicing state.
  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Five years of experience in long-term or acute care preferred; minimum 2 years supervisory experience required.
