Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Associate Assistant Director of Nursing reports to the Director of Nursing and Resident Care Services, working alongside the ADON. Responsibilities include maintaining standards of knowledge, skills, and judgment, and include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring wound assessments, staging, and protocols as ordered by physicians.
  • Assisting in care plan development related to wound care.
  • Reviewing wound care documentation for accuracy and providing training as needed.
  • Supervising Nursing Department staff and covering call-offs.
  • Coordinating admissions, including assessments and care plans.
  • Assisting in discharge planning to ensure safety and appropriateness, including reviewing discharge instructions and follow-up needs.
Qualifications

Education and Training: Current NY State RN license, preferably with a B.S. in Nursing. CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross. Interest in nursing management and education through professional development.

Experience: Supervisory or charge nurse experience in long-term care, with familiarity in wound care protocols.

Character: Good moral character, compassion for the elderly, ability to manage nursing staff, and maintain confidentiality.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate calmly and effectively with residents, families, staff, and team members. Acts as an advocate for the facility's goals and policies.
