Job summary

Spectrum Retirement Communities is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (LPN required) to lead and supervise care teams in an Assisted Living and Memory Care setting. The role focuses on compliance with state regulations, delivering high-quality resident care, and effective team leadership to ensure satisfaction.

The position requires strong assessment skills, geriatric care knowledge, and the ability to coordinate admissions and care planning with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• LPN is required.
• Strong background in assessing residents' behavioral symptoms and non-pharmacologic approaches.
• Advanced geriatric care certification or experience in assisted living is a plus.
• Meet state qualifications and training requirements.
• Must have computer skills – email, documents, spreadsheets and data entry.
• Must be medically able and willing to wear an NIOSH-approved respirator (N95) if required.

• Maintain knowledge of state regulations, policies, and procedures for compliance.

The Assistant Director of Nursing plans, implements, directs, and monitors effective Assisted Living and Memory Care systems in accordance with Spectrum’s philosophy, policies, resident rights, and state regulations. They use effective interpersonal communication and leadership skills to motivate team members in providing quality care and services to promote and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

In this position, your main responsibilities will include:

• Direct resident well-being according to State regulations to ensure appropriate and acceptable standards of care and adequate staffing
• Maintain a working knowledge of state regulations, policies, and procedures, dictated for compliance
• In conjunction with the Executive Director recruit, select, supervise, mentor appraise and counsel caregiving team members
• In conjunction with the community’s multidisciplinary team, coordinate the resident admission process including screening, assessment, care planning and team assignments
• Ensure appropriate delivery of services as identified in resident care plans by delegating and communicating verbal and written expectations to caregiving team members

To be successful in this position, we believe that you need the following experiences, strengths, and skills:

• LPNRequired.
• A strong background in assessing residents' behavioral symptoms and developing non-pharmacologic approaches to meeting residents' needs
• Advanced certification in geriatric care, previous experience in an assisted living or residential care environment a plus
• Meet the State qualifications and training requirements for the position
• Must have computer skills – e‑mail, documents, spreadsheets and entering data
• Must be medically able and willing to wear a NIOSH-approved tight‑fitting respirator (N95 mask), if required by and in accordance with federal or state regulations or Spectrum policy.
