Job summary

Wallick Senior Living is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing in Columbus, OH to lead nursing services and supervise staff. The role involves floor coverage, overseeing the med cart, and ensuring high-quality care across shifts.

Candidates must hold a valid Ohio Nursing License and demonstrate strong communication, decision-making, and regulatory compliance. The role includes on-call rotation and collaboration with the Director of Care.

Qualifications

  • Valid Ohio Nursing License.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints.
  • Strong mathematical understanding for day-to-day operations.
  • Ability to make complex decisions affecting facility operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional nursing services.
  • Oversee the med cart and supervise nursing staff.
  • Work on the floor as needed and manage staffing across shifts.
  • Participate in holiday rotation and every-other-weekend scheduling.
  • Ensure adherence to state standards of quality care and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Director to address deficiencies and implement corrective plans.
  • Train new nursing staff and participate in care plan development.
  • Engage in care conferences and rounds with residents and families.
  • Be available for on-call rotation with the Director of Care.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide exceptional nursing services.
  • Will work the floor at times and will oversee the med cart.
  • Scheduled to work every other weekend as well as a holiday rotation.
  • Must be flexible, compassionate, and dependable.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing/medical practices and procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Manage supervisory and nursing support personnel.
  • Reviews staff performance and ensures state standards of quality care are adhered to.
  • Responsible for ensuring all shifts are adequately staffed.
  • Assists with day-to-day functions within the nursing department and makes rounds during patient checks.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively written and verbally with residents, staff, management, and families.
  • Collaborate with the Director to identify and resolve departmental deficiencies with implemented correction plans.
  • Identify and address any quality-assurance auditing issues.
  • Trains new nursing staff.
  • Assists with care plans and assessments.
  • Sits in care conferences.
  • This position will be on an on-call rotation with the Director of Care.
What We’re Looking For
  • Valid Ohio Nursing License.
  • Ability to communicate in writing and verbally with co-workers, residents, family members and business partners.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from internal and external sources.
  • Ability to apply basic math skills.
  • Ability to make complex decisions requiring a high degree of judgment.
  • Decisions affect the overall operation of the facility.
