Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) – Home Health Care | Indianapolis, IN

Are you a seasoned nursing professional passionate about providing exceptional patient care? PsyPhyCare is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join a home health agency in Indianapolis, IN. As the ADON, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the clinical oversight of patient care from admission to discharge. Your leadership will guide caregivers and nursing staff, ensuring the highest standards of care while maintaining compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise caregivers and field staff, addressing clinical issues, providing coaching, and implementing disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Lead competency testing for staff during orientation and on an ongoing basis.
  • Coordinate client care, ensuring patients receive the right services at the right time.
  • Maintain clear communication with patients, caregivers, and the healthcare team.
  • Monitor patient care quality to ensure compliance with all healthcare standards and guidelines.
  • Participate in the recruitment process, interviewing and hiring staff both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and business development teams to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Federal/State/Local laws and agency regulations.
  • Support marketing efforts and community outreach as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

  • Active RN license required, BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory or management experience, preferably in home healthcare.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid/Medicare and home healthcare regulations.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Physical capability to perform patient care tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing, kneeling, sitting, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to the dynamic nature of a small business environment.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong management and leadership skills with a focus on consensus-building and communication.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining support from the backend team.
  • Flexibility to handle tasks beyond the typical scope of practice in a small agency.
  • Excellent communication skills, including frequent interaction with the Director of Nursing (DON), clients, and physicians.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of $80,000–$95,000 per year.
