Rockaway Care Center in Far Rockaway, NY is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to support the Director of Nursing and oversee the nursing staff in a 228-bed facility.

The ideal candidate holds a NY State RN license, an associate degree, with 2+ years in long-term care and some management experience; duties include hiring, orientation, audits, infection control, QAPI, and on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Current New York State RN license.
• Minimum Associate's Degree.
• Minimum 2 years experience in long-term care.

Rockaway Care Center is looking to hire an Assistant Director of Nursing.

Duties for Assistant Director of Nursing:

• Assist the DNS with management responsiblities and assist with maintaning quality of care for the patients
• Assist with compliance and ensure effective communication with all levels of nursing staff
• Assist with the nursing needs of residents as needed
• Assist DNS with on call rotation
• Assist with interviewing, hiring and orienting new staff
• Complete Accident & Incident Reports and Summaries
• Work with Social Work in grievance investigations for nursing department
• Oversee Infection Control Program
• Assist with auditing and QAPI as neccessary
• Implement physicians’ orders; administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures and special tests and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations as needed
• Oversee Nursing department in Director of Nursing absence

Qualifications of a Registered Nurse (RN):

• Current New York State RN license
• Minimum Associates Degree
• Min 2 years exp in Long term care Setting
• Min 1 year management experience preferred
• Must have effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Flexible hours as needed
